About the Role

Responsible for the strategic and operational direction of Human Resources, including the development and implementation of employment (and associated) policies. Responsible for researching and remaining current on industry trends and best practices and identifying specific actions needed to remain competitive. Responsible for crafting, promoting, and leading a Human Resource structure that fulfills legal and business needs for the Company and its business entities. Serve as a leader and resource property-level management; provide clear and effective counsel and communication to enable and assist management and staff in meeting goals and objectives. Develop and implement effective, creative, and innovative programs that promote a “best practices” environment of internal and external customer service. Build on the knowledge capital through long-term planning for the workforce skills and talents needed and its business entities.  Develop and implement effective approaches to leadership development, succession planning and technical training that ensure the long-term success of the business enterprises and marketplace competitiveness. Plan and develop competitive and cost effective employee reward systems including incentives, compensation, and benefits.  Responsible for the development and adherence to an annual departmental budget. Actively promote the organization’s efforts to encourage diversity and foster a participatory environment that assumes employee accountability for quality, cost reduction, innovation and success.  Promote a fair, safe and healthy work environment that exemplifies dignity, diversity, and respect, and excellence within the workforce and supports Boyd Gaming’s commitment to providing equal employment opportunities.
